Rules & Regulations

The rules and regulations of the school are meant to help the students attain the goal of Catholic education. They serve a very definite purpose – to ensure that the learning environment in general will make learning possible and strengthen the students’ character through discipline. Students are encouraged to look upon the observance of school regulations in this light. Furthermore, every student should be aware that he/she carries the name of Paco Catholic School, Thus, his/her behavior must emulate a true Paconian.

Compliance with school rules and regulations is not the sole responsibility of the student but also of his/her parents. The Supreme Court has ruled that parents’ refusal to follow the rules and regulations of their child’s school may be a legal ground for denying their children admission (Tan vs. Court of Appeals, 199 6 SCRA 212, as cited in p. 420 of Education law and the Private Schools, Revised Expanded Ed., Sarmiento 2009)

1 Attendance

In a learning environment characterized by independent learning and reduced direct instructional time with the teacher, the school and home partnership are more important than ever. The parents/guardians play a vital role in the success of online learning by providing a home atmosphere that is safe, secure, and conducive to the cognitive growth of our students.

Attendance responsibilities are shared by students, parents/guardians, and the school staff.

Attendance will be measured on a daily basis. Attendance in distance learning is defined as evidence of "engaging with the assigned material” at least one time per day.

  • he/she does not participate in any part of the learning activities for the day,

  • he/she has not checked in with the teacher, and

  • the student’s parent/guardian does not contact the teacher.

• Attendance is measured on a whole day basis with four subjects per day. Absence per subject is equivalent to 0.25. In case, there are 3 subjects only in a day and the student is absent the whole day, the secretary will mark him/her absent in the last or 4th subject to make it a whole day. When a student is absent only in the afternoon with only one subject left, it is considered a half-day absence.

• A student who timed in beyond 10 minutes in his/her subject is considered tardy.

•Twenty-four (24) tardiness within the grading period shall be considered a violation. Thus, a grade of C+ will be given to the student.

• Tardiness and failure to attend the morning ceremonies for 10 times or more in a quarter will result in a B- in the conduct. Twenty (20) times or more will be given a C+ in the conduct.
